If you
can start the clock and it runs momentarily, check to see if it is in
beat. In other words, is the clock ticking evenly (tick-tock-tick-tock)
not (tick-tock-----tick-tock).
If you
determine that the clock is not ticking evenly, it is probably not level.
If the clock is hanging on the wall, try tilting it one way or another
until the clock ticks evenly. If the clock is on a shelf, try adding
thin shims (such as a few business cards) under one side or the other until the ticking sounds even.
If it
takes an excessive amount of tilting or shimming, the clock movement
may have to be adjusted mechanically. This should be done by a clock
repair specialist.
